Wedding Guest Dress
The wedding season is upon us and it can be an expensive and daunting task trawling the shops looking for the right kind of garment.
At one point my husband and I were averaging 6 weddings a year. One year we had 12 and 3 were all on the same weekend! Now, naturally it makes sense to wear a dress more than once with those kind of invite numbers. BUT, it doesn’t always work out like that does it? City weddings call for a totally different vibe to say, a country wedding in a wild flower meadow!
Sometimes there is a dress code (helpful), sometimes there isn’t (not as helpful as you might think) My point is there are A LOT of things to consider and A LOT of choices. Below are some of my selects, i hope you like.
This Zara sea green jumpsuit is an absolute beauty and at £59.99 an absolutely beautiful price too. The sheer cape is incredibly flattering and perfect if you are feeling arm conscious. Style with a simple strappy sandal as they have done here. Or a raffia wedge and play up the 70s Bianca Jagger vibe.
I have big love for this Whistles embroidered jumpsuit. At £395 its not cheap and you would need to know you have more than one occasion to wear it, but the detailing is gorgeous and i adore the colours. I find a black shoe a bit too overpowering with this, and I'd be inclined to go for something softer.
A more reasonably priced Whistles jumpsuit. £175. Yellow is such a great colour and its really having a moment. Don't be afraid to add colour with your shoes and accessories. Leopard print heels, or blue or green would clash beautifully here. Or just go for ALL the colours like this Kurt Geiger sandal.
Reiss £180. Perfect for a city wedding, its styled casually here. Try teaming with this red KG sandal, an envelope clutch and a pair statement of earrings.
Love, love this dress from Banana Republic £99.50. Great with these shoes, but also a mule or a slingback. Boyfriend blazer will look great slung over shoulders. Bangles, hoops and sunglasses.
Banana Republic £85 Classic monochrome, you can do so much with this. It can be worn across multiple weddings slightly differently. NB when buying from BR buy online as not everything is available in store.
Banana Republic £110 This is such a pretty dress, and a great price for the detail. Personally i would toughen it up with a chunkier heel, or go for a velvet shoe to add a bit more luxe.

Banana Republic £85. I just love this colour and it has pockets! Instant game changer as far as I'm concerned- things just look cooler with pockets.
M&S £45.00. I know this does not instantly scream wedding glam. BUT put it with a fab pair of shoes, these floral sandals from LK Bennet are great. Wear statement earrings and huge bangles. This dress is also great if you are pregnant, in any trimester.
M&S £65.00 Love monochrome, Love this dress. Great for a city wedding, you can keep your shoes black or add a flash of colour, red, orange and yellow would work beautifully.
Warehouse £89.00 Its just so lovely and unbelievable value.The tiered layering is incredibly flattering, providing enough covering not to offend. Yet flashing enough leg, in the unlined bottom tier to be hugely sexy. Big fan of this.
Zara £59.99 such an amazing colour, wear with flats or heels, depending on your wedding setting. You can pull out the red, pink, orange or do gold. Huge earrings and lots of bangles.
Zara £59.99 this is such cool bird print i couldn't resist adding it. Great with a white boyfriend blazer slung over and heels.
Zara £29.99 fab worn with block mule or wedge. Add a Panama hat, sunglasses and a clutch bag.
M&S £55.00 such a cute dress. Reminds me of something from A Roman Holiday, you can really dress this up and run with a 50s vibe or keep it low key and natural for a casual wedding.
